I hope all the 10 teams will post this--very convenient for opposing fans to find a opposition player.

Some beat writers are putting out their predictions. One stands out.

INST beat writer is a buffoon.

Todd Golden- INST Beat Writer- 1- UNI, 2- MSU, 3-LU, 4-SIU, 5-DU, 6-INST, 7-BU, 8-ILST, 9-VU, 10-UE.

I bolded the eye raisers. Although several beat writers have UNI at number 1.

Drake fifth?!?! Drake? I feel like I'm about to go off like Steven A. Smith.

A few national publications have had UNI at #1 too.

What I don't get is the people going "UNI LOST MORGAN! THEY SUCKS WITHOUT HEEM!!"

Yet then putting Illinois State in the top 3. I can pull the numbers again but Illinois State literally loses 85% of their stats from last year.

I'm not sure what that has to do with Drake being 5th. That's the biggest thing.

I agree that there are legit arguments for ISUr, UNI, Valpo. But, Drake and ISUb? No way. But, he is an ISUb beat writer so homerism explains that one. But, Drake? He must think Medved is Greg Popovich.

I think ISUr will finish anywhere from 4-6th. Ditto for UNI. I keep saying it, unless your incoming recruits or Carlson/Koch improve efficiency, I don't see a big year out of UNI. Don't be so hurt over a random posters projection. Just trying to use logic based on what you lose vs return from a very average to below average 2016-2017 team.

ISUr will be bad early and finish strong like always.

Good for ISUb beat writer sticking to his guns.

Wasn't Drake picked like 9th in '08? Medved coaching them up to 5th isn't out of the realm of possibility.

It will be about the middle of December when Illinois State fans finally realize "uh oh, this group just isn't as talented as we thought it was" Then and only then will you realize what some outsiders see when they have the birds 7th or 8th. They return the least amount of contributors league wide and their best incoming recruit is not eligible.

If you rated on talent alone ISUr is still Top 5 in the Valley. The issues in December will be experience
and cohesion. The best incoming recruit is Clarance and he is eligble.
Also Yarbrough is a stud transfer and people are way undervaluing Phil Fayne.
Barring anymore injuries the Birds will be fine!
