As a side note, for those who are watching swimming, 100 breaststroke Gold medalist, and the voice against doping at the olympics, Lilly King, is the product of 2 MVC grads.

Ginny King swam for, and graduated from Illinois State, Mark King, ran for, and graduated from Indiana State (both graduated in the 1980s)

A 4 minute interview with them on CNN today

In the women's Shot Put Indiana State's Felisha Johnson was 14th in the preliminaries, just barely missing the finals. One time Saluki Raven Saunders did make the final and will throw tonight in the finals

In the women's Hammer Throw DeAnna Price and Gwen Berry from SIU are throwing right now on nbcolympics.com

Saturday morning updates for the MVC women.

Illinois State grad Aisha Praught made the steeple final for Jamaica, she'll run again Monday morning.

SIU grad DeAnna Price will also throw in the Hammer final Monday morning. About the same time as Praught runs

in the women's long jump today, Bianca Stuart (SIU) placed 16th, just missing the finals for the Bahamas.

We're down to just one MVC athlete left to compete in Rio, Marissa Kurtimah (Missouri State - 4 x 100 relay for Canada)

looks like Marissa Kurtimah (Missouri Sate) and her Canadian teammates qualified for the next round in the women's 4 x 100 meter relay, so she'll run again.

Canada and Marissa Kurtimah (MSU) place 7th in the 4 x 100 meter relay final. Not sure Kurtimah ran in that fine though, didn't see her
