Oh please. Look at what happened when Butler made the championship game (either year, but especially against Duke). If Wichita were to win the National Championship, college basketball would collapse onto itself.

Accurate BuBrave....the P5 media would s*** themselves and there would be lots of articles about "the rise of the mid-major".

People love the underdog story, so it would get plenty of media attention...just as your (WSU) current rise to prominence was helped with media exposure when you made the Final Four, which in turn, gave you credibility in recruiting higher level players that you see on the court today in a Shocker uni.

Wait. Did a person that predicted that Bradley was going to win the Valley next year just say "oh please"? That's rich.

And I'm not sure what your actual point is. Nobody outside of the Valley would care about the Valley if WSU or UNI won a title, just like no one cares about the Big East just because Nova won it. I'd care about Nova though.

Butler got pub, not the Horizon. Nationally, nobody cared about the conference, but they did care about Butler. Wichita or UNI would get tons of love but the Valley would be an afterthought.

Agreed. Multiple ncaa tournament bids by MVC teams is what would establish / re establish us as a major conference.

Thought it was fairly obvious that my prediction was sarcastic, Although i do expect us to be significantly better next year, but I digress...

No one actually considers the Big East a "mid-major" though, if a team from an actual mid-major conference won the national title, I think it would be huge for that conferece. Also, if I recall, Butler left the Horizon shortly after making the title game, which also obviously hurt the conference pub.

MVC needs more years like 2006 when SIU, UNI, Bradley and WSU all made the NCAA and Bradley and WSU went to the Sweet 16. Has the MVC had more that 2 teams in the NCAA tournament in any year since then?

Nope, just UNI and WSU the last two years, WSU and CU in 12 and 13, SIU and CU in 07. 5 one-bid years and 5 two-bid years in the last 10.
